Dr. Carter will begin seeing patients on August 6th. Alysen grew up in Kingsport and is thrilled to remain in the area to serve the Southwest VA community of Gate City and surrounding areas.
She received her undergraduate degree from University of Tennessee in Knoxville, obtained a MBA in Hospital Administration from Davenport University, and completed her medical training at Ross University School of Medicine.
Dr. Carter has traveled a lot during her education and is happy to be back at home. She is currently finishing her last year of residency at ETSU Family Medicine in Kingsport and served as one of their chief residents.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, ages 5 and 3. They enjoy cooking, traveling, being outdoors and watching football. Dr. Carter enjoys working with rural communities and is thoroughly interested in preventive medicine. She is looking forward to getting to know and to care for the patients and families at Mountain Region Family Medicine, Gate City.
